This non-profit was created in memory of Joe Quartini, a Pacifica native and life-long surfer. Joe left us way too early while surfing in Central America in 2012. Besides loving surfing, Joe was a marine geologist and concerned himself with the ocean environment. Our goal is to provide opportunities for others to learn about and take interest in his passions.
Joe's wife, Elyse, a photographer of surfing, attributes Joe as influencing her in her work and in her own words, "He is and will always be a part of my life". Her photography captures that same energy that drove him and she honors Joe by donating proceeds of her unique photographs to this cause.
I Know Joe has partnered up with Surf Camp Pacifica, to help provide scholarships for underserved local youth to learn about surfing safety. We promote cleaning beaches and help with local schools in ocean environmental issues.
